| HON. TREASURER'S REPORT - June 2010 |
| |
Four years ago we refurbished the Tennant Hall to bring up the quality of the building to make it more attractive for church events and letting to various groups. The cost of the renovation amounted to €765,956 - the Tennant Hall Development Fund. We had €150,000 from our own resources and the balance we have to raise ourselves. At the end of December 2009, we still had a deficit of €220,902. Since the start of the year, we have raised €8,362 in donations/fundraising and paid €1,094 in interest. In the past 4 years we received €30,000 p.a. from the PA Foundation which helped to reduce our debt substantially. However, the PA Foundation commitment has now finished and we are very grateful to them for their support. The interest rate we are currently paying on our loan is very low (only 2%) and we must make every effort to reduce the borrowing as soon as possible by fund raising, gifts and by our members setting up standing orders on a monthly basis. Currently 4 members have set up monthly standing orders. Thank you to all who support our church so generously. We could not have achieved so much in the past 4 years without your commitment. If you are in a position to support the Development Fund this can be achieved by: |

| | Craft Fairs: Running since October 2007 and co-ordinated by Jean Binnie, the craft fair events have been very successful. In 2008, €1,274 was raised and the total now stands at just over €4,000! Thanks to Jean Binnie, Marjorie Clarke, Mary Gregory, Rev. Mary Hunter, Joy Geary, and Vivienne Sainsbury for hosting the various events. Sincere thanks also to each of the individual craft contributors - your hidden talents are very much appreciated! |
